Create Rails

The Create Rail ( ) tool helps to create rails, different rail geometry and models.

You can access this dialog from the following:

Ribbon: OpenRail Modeling Workflow < Rail < Miscellaneous < Create Rails

Using Create Rail, you can create rail geometry and 3D mesh models.

Left and right rail geometry follows:

Horizontal
Vertical
Cant alignment
Track widening

Rail geometry sample created below is a complex element that consists of components which represent each individual rail element.

Rail geometry represents Top-Center point of the rail. To obtain accurate results when creating 3D mesh, the selected template should have its origin at this same location.

Notes:

When you select cant, a single cant is selected. Using the reset option selects all the cants assigned to the geometry.
When tracking along an alignment, use F11 to include active Cant, Speed and Radius reading in Analyze Point.
