Table Editor

Makes modifications to geometry using a tabular format.

Access this tool from the following:

  • Ribbon: Geometry > Common Tools
  • Ribbon: Survey > Geometry > Common Tools

Edit Horizontal Geometry Using Table Editor

Workflow

  1. Select Table Editor.
  2. When the Locate Alignment prompt displays datapoint to select an alignment.

The Alignment Table Editor dialog displays.

  3. Insert and delete PIs using the Complex by PI tool.
  4. Select row, right click and select from the menu: Insert Before, Insert After, or Delete.

Each element highlights as you select each row.

  5. Each field is editable. Enter value and tab or enter to accept.

    Temporary graphics display.

  6. Select the Apply button to apply the modified value to the alignment.

The data is now ready for review.

  7. Select Report to display Horizontal Alignment Review Report in the Report Browser.
  8. Specify another stylesheet to display, if desired.
  9. Select Spiral Input to select from the menu: Length, A Parameter, or RL Value.
  10. Apply to accept modifications.

Setting

Description

Station

Reference points along the route or baseline at regular intervals. All distances are measured along the route from the alignment starting reference station.

Back Tangent Length

The length of the tangent line before the beginning of the curve.

Back Bearing

Direction of the back tangent specified by an angle between the tangent line and the north-south axis.

Back Spiral Length

Length of spiral curve or gradual transition in curvature from the back tangent to the curve.

Back Spiral A Parameter

When RL values are quite large, some jurisdictions use the A-value. A-value is equal to the square root of RL.

Back Spiral RL Value

The spiral is defined by a parameter equal to the radius multiplied by length.

Northing

Y coordinate.

Easting

X coordinate.

Radius

Radius of the circular arc or curve.

Arc Length

Distance from the PC (Point of Curvature where the curve begins) to the PT (Point of Tangency where the curve ends) measured along the curve.

Ahead Spiral Length

Length of spiral curve or gradual transition in curvature from the curve to the ahead tangent.

Ahead Spiral A Parameter

When RL values are quite large, some jurisdictions use the A-value. A-value is equal to the square root of RL.

Ahead Spiral RL Value

The spiral is defined by a parameter equal to the radius multiplied by length.

Ahead Bearing

Direction of the ahead tangent specified by an angle between the tangent line and the north-south axis.

Ahead Tangent Length

The length of the tangent line after the end of the curve.

Report button

Displays the Horizontal Alignment Review Report in the Report Browser.

Spiral Input

Select from Length, A Parameter or RL Value.
