To Replace a Component

The following procedure describes how to replace a component in a drawing. For this example we will replace a valve.

  1. Click on a valve in the drawing.
  2. Open the Replace Component dialog using one of the following methods.
    • Select Replace Component from the Utilities menu.
    • Right-click and select Replace Component from the popup menu.
    • Enter PID Component Replace into the key-in window.
  3. Click on the valve tag number in the left pane of the dialog.
    The list of available replacement valves is displayed in the Available Replacement Components section.
  4. Click on a valve to be used to replace the existing valve.
    A preview of the valve is displayed in the pane to the right of the list.
  5. In the Component Properties section, make any changes to the property values which will be applied to the new valve.
  6. Click OK to replace the valve.
