To Paste Elements, Text, or Linked Text from the Clipboard Using Paste Special

  1. From any application, copy the item to the Clipboard.
  2. Go back to OpenPlant PID.
  3. To specify a certain format in which to paste the information, select Paste Special ( Drawing > Home > Selection > Paste split button).

    The Paste Special dialog opens.

  4. In the Data Type list box, select the format in which you want to paste the data and then click Paste.

    The Paste OLE dialog opens.

  5. Select the format in which you want the object to be pasted in the Paste As list box.
  6. Select how you want to paste the object in the Method menu.
  7. Turn on Display as icon if you want the pasted object to appear as an icon in the DGN file.
  8. If By Size is selected in the Method menu, key in the scale of the object to be pasted in the Scale text box.
  9. Do one of the following:
    • If the Method is By Size, click a data point to define the location of the object to be pasted.
    • If the Method is By Corner, click a data point to define the top left corner and a second data point to define the bottom right corner of the object to be pasted.
