To Create a KML File from Google Earth

  1. Create a Placemark in Google Earth.
  2. Right-click on the placemark and choose Save As.
  3. If necessary, choose a different folder (from the default).
  4. Optional: Give the file a name (other than the default).
  5. Select KML as the file type.
  6. Click Save.
