The Parametric Instruments option allows you to define a specific
instrument symbol as well as the plant location for the instrument before
placement.
Accessed from the
Instruments gallery.
Upon selecting the option from the Instruments taskbar, the
Properties dialog
displays prompting you to define a tag number and component properties for the
instrument. After closing the Properties dialog, the following dialog displays:
Note: If the Tag Dialog
Prompt option is turned off in the
PID
Document dialog's Settings tab, then a default tag number will be used
and the
Properties dialog does
not display. The next available tag number in an incremental sequence is
assigned to the component. Properties and tag numbers can be edited in the
Element Info dialog after placement.

Bubble Types

Select a bubble type from the list. The image is displayed in the
pane to the right.

Location
|
Define the plant location for the instrument.

Bubble Radius
|
Define the radius of the bubble. It changes dynamically in the
drawing as you resize it.

Leader Line
|
Select from the following options:
- On - Places the
instrument with a leader line.
- Off - Places
instrument without leader line.
- Instrument Line -
Enables the Instrument Lines list providing a list of available instrument
lines to choose from when placing the instrument.

Instrument Lines
|
Drop down list of available instrument lines to place with the
instrument.
Note: Only enabled
when the Instrument Line option is selected from the Leader Line option group.

Locks
|
Displays the following options at the bottom of the dialog when
you click on the expand button
:
- Axis Lock
- Snap Lock
- Grid Lock
|
When the above dialog displays, the default Bubble Type is attached to
the cursor ready for placement. It changes dynamically as you scroll through
the list. Drag the instrument symbol to the desired placement point and
left-click to place. Connect the leader line where required. You will be
prompted to place the tag number annotation for the instrument. Left-click to
place the annotation, or right-click to end the command without placing it.
