Raceway Placement
Raceway components
have the same basic placement procedure which is described below. Note that the
Place
Component dialog which lets the user define the component settings is
common to both Piping and Raceway components.
To place a Cable Tray component, first select an option from one
of the Raceway Galleries.
Note: When placing
components with multiple records in the spec that match the query, the
Spec Record Selection dialog displays listing the available
picks.
If the component more than one spec record that matches the
query, select the correct record from the Spec Record Selection dialog when it
displays. Next, the Place Component dialog displays allowing you to define the
placement point for the component as well as values for various component
properties.
Once the properties are defined, the placement prompts will depend on the type of component selected:
- Straight Tray: Requires a Start Point and End Point.
- Elbows and Branching Components: Require single location point when connecting to an existing component. If placed in space, requires a placement point and direction. Select the placement port for the component from the Place Component dialog.
- Tray Reducer Components: Requires you to select the correct component from Spec Record Selection dialog then pick a placement point and direction if placing in space, or just a placement point if connecting to an existing component.
