Ports

Open the Ports Dialog

  1. From the File > OpenComms Settings > ISP dialog select the Ports tab.
  2. The Port Editor dialog box opens.

Edit a Port

  1. Select a port from the Port List. Highlighting the port loads the information into the dialog box.
  2. Edit the Port Editor input fields as necessary.
    Note: If fields are unavailable for selecting, this means that the port is in use and cannot be modified.
  3. Click Update to save changes into the spec file.

Create a Port

  1. Key in the port ID in the database field.
  2. Click Add to save the port into the spec file and to make the dimension and type fields available.
  3. From the Type pull-down menu, select a port type (Coax, Copper, Fiber, Power).
  4. Key in the Width and the Height of the port.
  5. From the Cell Shape pull-down menu, select a cell to represent the port (Rectangle, Circle, Hexagon, Octagon).
  6. Choose a color for the port cell.
  7. Key in the Manufacturer Part #, Internal Part # and Cost for both the Terminator and Connector associated to the port.
  8. Click Update to save the port into the spec file.

Delete a Port

  1. Highlight the name in the Port List.
  2. Click Delete to remove the port from the spec file.
    Note: A Port model that is in use within a project cannot be deleted. In order to delete a Port model from the Port Editor dialog, all of that particular Port model must be replaced in the existing network before it can be removed.
