The OpenCommsExternalReporter utility allows users to run SQL statements defined by a site administrator or a DBA. The SQL statements support parameters to refine the result sets so users can get the data they desire and output to a standard data grid or a custom report created using Microsoft’s ReportViewer technology. The utility has some ‘canned’ reports included, which can be used to help create and define other more complex queries.

This utility ships with a limited amount of basic reports that can be used and modified for other features and tables. To obtain more complex reports that may call for table joins and complex queries may require someone with experience in database queries and SQL script creation.
