Copper Jumper

A Jumper feature is a (non-graphical) sheath that connects two splices together in a duct enclosure or in the same ped or vault. The Jumper command is normally used in ‘multi-sheath’ (non-graphical conduit) design. Though the ‘jumper’ is never displayed graphically, there is a logical connection made in the database. If graphic display of jumpers is desired, use the pigtail sheath.

  1. To Place a jumper, click on the jumper icon in the Placement section of the Copper tab:

Note: Since this command connects two pieces of equipment together that are located in/on the same facility (pole, ped, or vault), make sure you add the second piece of equipment to the same facility before connecting them with a jumper.
  2. Locate the strand facility where the two devices are located that will be connected with the jumper. This will open the Jumper Information dialog box:

  3. Verify that the jumper ‘From and To’ equipment names are the correct ones to connect.
  4. Select the span type, the Cable ID, the pair range, status, length, and name of the jumper.
  5. Click OK to accept or Cancel to exit.
