Terminal Info Block Setup

OpenComms Copper provides a terminal information tool that can be utilized by the end user. Any data stored to the terminal table or the custom attribute table associated with terminals can be accessed, loaded into a cell, and posted to the database. Bentley Copper also provides a tool to automatically update the information if the terminal data ever changes in the network model.

Click on File > OpenComms Settings > OSP - Copper to select the Terminal Info Blocks Setup tab and display the Terminal Info Setup dialog:

Create a Copper Terminal Info Block

  1. Key in a Name for this Terminal Info Block.
  2. Click Select to choose an appropriate cell. The Select Cell dialog will open:

  3. Scroll down the list, highlight a cell that has been defined with PBA (property-based annotation) fields, and click OK. The cell loads in the Info Setup window:

  4. Select the number of PBA locations to represent in the current terminal info block by clicking the # Fields pull-down and highlighting the number. (There are only 3 available fill-in fields for the Terminal Info block.)

After choosing 3 for the number of PBA locations, a list opens in the Current Fill-ins section of the Terminal Info Setup dialog box. The list displays the association between the Terminal Info cell number and the database field:

  5. Highlight the first current fill-in value, then highlight the ‘Available Fill-in Field’ desired for that number in the cell, and then click Set fill-in to place the value in the middle box:

In this example, the [1] in the cell will be populated with the ‘Terminal Description’ taken from the database.

Assign an Available Fill-in Field for each line in the middle box. The data that will be populated in the Terminal Info block will correspond with the Available Fill-in Field assigned to the respected PBA number in the cell.

Edit a Copper Terminal Info Block

Note: The Edit option on the Copper Terminal Info Setup dialog is only available if there is an existing Terminal Info Block in the database. If none exists, the Edit option is not available.
