Create Centroids is used to place a point element at the
approximate center of an area. A point element is either a text node, a cell,
or a zero length line.

Description
|
Mode
|
- Shape — Creates centroids from areas.
One centroid is created for each shape element found by the fence scan. The
active text parameters or cell names are used to define the centroid.
- Boundary — Creates centroids from
boundaries. Shape elements are not required as boundary elements found by the
fence scan are inferred to be areas. Boundary requires more time than the Area
option, but it is advantageous when large complex polygons (with more sides
than can be contained in a MicroStation Complex Shape element — about 15,500
sides) are involved.

Type
|
- Text
Node - A data point which determines the position of text in a design. The text
node is placed using the current text settings. The display of the text node is
toggled in the View Attributes dialog
- Cell - A standard MicroStation point
or normal cell. The active cell settings are used.
- Zero
Length Line - A line whose start and end points are the same. The resulting
point is placed using the active element attributes.
