Tree hierarchy:
Sub-surfaces such as the Door tree object occupy the next highest position in the hierarchy below that of Surface tree objects. Doors are typically associated with Exposed walls, but can also be associated with Partitions.
Windows and Doors are surfaces that can be classified as sub-surfaces, each with a common set of data properties and a unique set of special properties.
The Door object, when selected, provides an entry point to the surface data on the Properties For: Door dialog. Here, you can view basic surface data such as the surface category and sub-type (Door) as well as dimensional data. The Door’s Construction details are displayed in several sub-panels that affect thermal calculations and energy simulations that are performed on the project building.
