Convert IFC to COBie

The Covert IFC to COBies utility is provided to convert existing IFC files to COBie spreadsheets, because:

You may want an IFC file to be transformed to a COBie spreadsheet. This utility makes this possible without having to recreate an IFC file using the IFC Export dialog.
You may receive an IFC file from a 3rd party which wants to transform it to a COBie spreadsheet.
You may have created several IFC files from a federated BIM due to file size limitations, which can be converted to COBies using the suitable template option and exclude unnecessary classes, thereby making it possible to create a solitary COBie spreadsheet.

Setting	Description
IFC File	Click the browse button to navigate to a directory and to select a source file. The default folder location is defined by TFDIR_IFC. Note: Files with the extension *.IFC are available for selection.
COBie File	The *.xls equivalent filename that of selected IFC file would be set in the same path.
Template	Allows setting one of the templates from the available options of conversion standards: COBie-US-2_4-template.xls COBie-UK-2012-template.xls The selected template formats the XLS being created.
Skip geometry	When checked, the conversion ignores the geometry.
Exclude IFC classes	Opens the Exclude IFC Classes dialog, listing all applicable IFC classes excludes, for: Component Sheet Type Sheet, and Assembly Sheet Check the items in each list that are required to be excluded, and click OK to apply.
Create	Starts the transform process. When the conversion finishes, the COBie spreadsheet is created, opens (in Microsoft Excel) with instruction and data sorted in different tabs in the spreadsheet.

Note: During conversion, the source file header is checked as follows:
