Configuration Changes
In OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition Update 4 and later, installation options are available to define the locations of both the Delivered Configuration and a Custom Configuration.
The Custom Configuration is the recommended location for user WorkSpaces and WorkSets. To specify the path of the Custom Configuration, on the Configuration page, first select the Custom Configuration (plus Delivered Configuration) radio button and then set the path in the Custom Configuration field. This Custom Configuration path is written into the ConfigurationSetup.cfg file. WorkSpaces subsequently created in this location are displayed as Custom Configuration WorkSpaces in the Work Page. This configuration is defined by the _USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION configuration variable.
The main difference between the Configuration settings in OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition Update 4 versus the previous CONNECT Edition releases is that previously, at install time, you could define the path for WorkSpaces and Organization folders within a Configuration; whereas now you can define the path of the Configuration folder itself.
If you have a previous release of OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition installed, and have created custom WorkSpaces, then while upgrading you should point the Custom Configuration field to the folder that contains the WorkSpaceSetup.cfg file of your Configuration. If the custom WorkSpaces were created in the delivered Configuration folder (C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration), then you should point the Custom Configuration field to that location. While upgrading, the Custom Configuration field by default points to C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration.
