Determine if DataGroup instances are not valid in the current catalog system
This scenario involves a situation where you need to determine if there are DataGroup catalog instances in a file that are not valid in the current DataGroup environment.
DataGroup instances that are not valid are orphaned.
- An orphaned DataGroup instance is an instance with a catalog name that does not exist in the current DataGroup environment.
- If the catalog name exists but the catalog instance name does not exist, the DataGroup instance is considered orphaned.
- If the schema names that make up the catalog do not exist, the DataGroup instance is considered orphaned.
-
In the DataGroup Transformation Utility dialog, click Scan.
The Source Catalog Mapping list box shows all orphaned DataGroup instances (displaying a warning icon).
- Use the applicable steps the procedure Changing a DataGroup catalog to remap all orphaned DataGroup instances to valid DataGroup catalogs.
