Create a User Defined/Custom Compound Slab

Activate the
(Place Compound
Slab) tool settings and click the
(Edit Catalog
Item) icon in the Catalog tools
The Catalog Editor opens.

While the
Compound Slab type is selected in the tree,
or select
.
The Catalog Type Definition dialog opens.
- In the Settings group, override the default Type Name string NewCatalogType by typing a new name UserDefinedCompoundSlabType for the new catalog type. Also enter a suitable display name. Make sure the Destination settings File Name is the CompoundSlab.xml.
- In the Definition settings group, select Tool Template: Place Compound Slab.

Make sure the
Slab_Common (and
SlabQuantities and
ObjectStructuralUsage) is in Selected Definitions
column. Click OK to save to close the Catalog Type Definition dialog.
Note: You can have your own schema definitions established such as gutters, chair rails, wire molding, rail tracks, etc. and associated with catalog types.
The UserDefinedCompoundSlabType type appears in the catalog items tree in catalog editor.
- Next, make sure is checked.

Select the newly created catalog type and
or select
.
The New Catalog Item dialog opens.
- Leave the destination path as it is and in Nametype the name UserDefinedCompoundSlabItem, for the new catalog item. Make sure the destination File Name is the CompoundSlab.xml settings file. Click OK.
- Select Leaf Definition and Thickness in the catalog editor for compound slab item created in Step 8.

Select
in Catalog Editor dialog.
Close the Catalog Editor.
- Open the Place Compound Slab tool settings dialog and select the (Refresh Library) tool. The new catalog type UserDefinedCompoundSlabType and catalog item UserDefinedCompoundSlabItem are added to the Place Compound Slab tool settings.
- To Place the Custom Compound Slab, select the appropriate Part/Family from placement tool.
