The Energy Performance Certificate shows the energy rating of the building. The certificate shows the rating of the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of a building from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is very inefficient.

The certificate compares the building rating to two benchmarks for the particular type of building. The benchmark 'New' building is a similar building which is built to current PartL standards. The benchmark 'Typical' building is typical of the current building stock.

A Recommendations Report is automatically produced by SBEM when an EPC calculation is performed. This report contains various recommendations for the improvement of the energy performance of the building.

The Recommendations Report is produced by SBEM. An energy assessor can make changes to the Recommendations Report and add new recommendations to the report.

The Secondary Recommendations Report extends the Recommendations Report and shows additional details for each recommendation.
