Notifications Panel

Used to validate and resolve issues with OpenBuildings Energy Simulator project data. Opens by default when starting OpenBuildings Energy Simulator.

SettingDescription
Errors When errors in project data are reported, the Description field typically indicates an action must be taken to resolve the error: “Value must be specified”. An unresolved error can be severe enough to cause a calculation to issue a failure report.

In this example, double clicking on the error opens the Room Type Manager, selects the room type listed in the Notifications panel Object column, and highlights the property listed in the Notifications panel Field column. You can set the value to resolve the notification error.

The Occupancy Schedule value can be set to resolve the error.

Warnings When warnings in project data are reported, the Description field typically indicates an action should be taken to resolve the warning: “Value should be specified”. An unresolved warning can result in incomplete calculation or simulation results.

In this example, double clicking on the warning opens the Room Type Manager, selects the room type listed in the Notifications panel Object column, and highlights the property listed in the Notifications panel Field column. You can set the value to resolve the notification warning.

The Winter Schedule value can be set to resolve the warning.

Message When messages in project data are reported, the Description field typically indicates an action should be taken to resolve the message: “Value should be specified”. An unresolved message can result in incomplete calculation or simulation results, but is generally not severe.

In this example, double clicking on the message opens the Properties dialog populated with properties of the OpenBuildings Energy Simulator Project Tree item listed in the Notifications panel Object column, and selects but does not highlight the property listed in the Notifications panel Field column. You can set the value to resolve the notification message.

The Mains Water temperature schedule can be set to resolve the message.
