Place Assembly

Used to place the desired assembly selected from the library of stored assemblies.
Accessed from:
  • Ribbon: Building Design > Mechanical > Assembly Builder > Place Assembly
  • Ribbon: Building Design > Architectural > Assembly Builder > Place Assembly
  • Ribbon: Building Design > Structural > Assembly Builder > Place Assembly
  • Ribbon: Building Design > Electrical > Assembly Builder > Place Assembly

Placement Tab

SettingDescription
Part/Family When ON, part and family definitions of the selected component are assigned to the new component.
Note: Part/Family functionality is used only for Mechanical assemblies .
Base Offset Sets the Z axis distance between the elevation of the active floor (or ACS) and the elevation of the item being placed (usually the bottom surface). BaseOffset can be a negative value.
Note: Works relative to the active floor elevation at time of placement. During instances when the ACS Plane and ACS Plane Snap locks are turned off, BaseOffset is relative to the Active Depth.


SettingDescription
Discipline Selects the discipline the cell of assembly is stored.
Assembly Name Selects the name of the assembly listed in the discipline.
Change Placement Point On clicking Change Placement Point , a temporary model view is opened to get the highest accuracy to place the point where user can zoom , rotate , change view and select the desired placement point.
Note: If you access a different ribbon tab while Place Assembly is active, both the Create Assembly and Place Assembly tools appear on the selected ribbon tab.
