Structural Quantities Property Details
The following table contains descriptions and information about the properties provided by the Structural Quantities schemaStructuralQuantities.
Property |
Description |
---|---|
Length |
The net overall length of the linear member, or the PQ member length minus cutbacks. |
AreaCrossSection |
The ideal cross section area of the linear member as specified in the section file. That is, the manufactured geometry, and not the modeled geometry which contains details such as fillets not present in the Structural model. — Typically the section file contains a dimensional element with an A attribute representing the ideal area. If a section does not have an area attribute value, the Structural Quantity is published as zero. — Normally, AreaCrossSection has a larger value than the AreaCrossSectionModeled property. |
AreaCrossSectionModeled |
The as modeled geometry of the linear member in the Structural model. That is, the modeled geometry representing the manufactured geometry which does not contain details such as fillets. — Normally, AreaCrossSectionModeled has a smaller value than the AreaCrossSection property. |
FeatureVolume |
The volume occupied by subtractive features such as web openings. |
VolumeGross |
The idealized gross volume as calculated by: VolumeGross = AreaCrossSection x Length |
VolumeGrossModeled |
The gross volume as represented by the actual geometry of the modeled linear member. It does not include subtractions from Features. |
VolumeNet |
The net volume calculated by subtracting the FeatureVolume from the VolumeGross. |
VolumeNetModeled |
The net volume calculated by subtracting the FeatureVolume from the VolumeGrossModeled. |
UnitWeight |
Is a direct lookup from the section file.Typically the section file contains a dimensional element with a W attribute representing the unit weight. If a section does not have a unit weight attribute value, the Structural Quantity is published as zero. |
MaterialDensity |
Is a direct lookup from the dataset Component file. Material density defines the weight per unit volume of the material (Steel, Concrete) associated with the dataset part. |
LengthXUnitWeight |
The weight of the linear member as calculated by: LengthXUnitWeight = Length x UnitWeight If a section does not have a material density attribute value, the Structural Quantity is published as zero. |
VolumeGrossXDensity |
The idealized total weight as calculated by: VolumeGrossXDensity = VolumeGross x MaterialDensity |
VolumeGrossModeledXDensity |
The total modeled weight as calculated by: VolumeGrossModeledXDensity = VolumeGrossModeled x MaterialDensity |
VolumeNetXDensity |
The net weight as calculated by: VolumeNetXDensity = VolumeNet x MaterialDensity |
VolumeNetModeledDensity |
The net weight as calculated by: VolumeNetModeledXDensity = VolumeNetModeled x MaterialDensity |
