Import Material Mapping
Walls
Walls participate (similar to Linear Members) in the handling of materials during import from Structural Synchronizer. The Structural extended data properties Material and Grade are set to the ISM material type and name respectively.
Solids
Solids participate (similar to Linear Members) in the handling of materials during import from Structural Synchronizer. The Structural extended data properties Material and Grade are set to the ISM material type and name respectively.
Steel Joists
The SystemKind property is used to facilitate the round-tripping of steel joists through Structural Synchronizer. Specifically, when OpenBuildings Designer imports joists from RAM Structural System, a single linear member is created with these properties:

A rectangular section is added to the Structural section tables named according to the joist designation. |
During import, members with a SystemKind property of SteelJoist have the Structural Type and Material (Beam, Steel Joist) set to mark them as Steel Joists. This allows the Bar Joist tool, for example, to identify them using the Modify Joist mode to convert the envelopes to detailed members.
