Mechanical discipline AccuDraw Shortcuts

Although AccuDraw tries to anticipate the next design move, it cannot always predict design intentions. So a wide variety of single and double character AccuDraw command directives, known as shortcut key-ins, are provided. By pressing the appropriate keyboard keys, you can direct AccuDraw to perform specific tasks. AccuDraw is the default input focus in most cases during workflow and this permits the you to type keyboard shortcuts and not be concerned about active input focus.

This appendix contains Mechanical discipline AccuDraw shortcuts and equivalent key-ins that you can enter into the Key-in Window. These shortcuts are used during placement and modification to orient and manipulate Mechanical discipline components to fit inside a route or system enhancing design precision and productivity (see also: Complete List of AccuDraw Shortcut Key-ins).

Note: Keyboard shortcuts are not case sensitive.
Tip: The file Shortcut.txt is located in the active dataset's data folder, and can be edited in a text editor to customize the AccuDraw key-ins.
Keys Effect key-in
Key-ins available within the Place Component Settings and Modify Component tools:
<H>,<C> HVAC Catalog - Opens the Manufacturer Catalog dialog when catalog links are available.
BMECH ACCU DIALOGCATALOG
<R>,<R> Rotate FITTING - Reorients the component by toggling through the connect point ID's.
BMECH ACCU ORIENT
<R>,<W> Rotate FITTING Left - Rotates the component 90° to the left about the AccuDraw X axis.
BMECH ACCU ROTATELEFT
<R>,<T> Rotate FITTING Right - Rotates the component 90° to the right about the AccuDraw X axis.
BMECH ACCU ROTATERIGHT
<R>,<D> Swap FITTING End - Swaps the dimensional sizes for the placement end of the component.
BMECH ACCU SWAPEND
<R>,<F> Swap FITTING All - Swaps the dimensional sizes for all ends of the component.
BMECH ACCU SWAPALL
<R>,<O> Set Origin FITTING - During component placement, sets the AccuDraw compass to the connected end of a component if dynamically connected.
BMECH ACCU SETORIGIN
<R>,<P> Set Origin FITTING true - During component placement, sets the AccuDraw compass to the connected end of a component if dynamically connected. If the connected end shape is "Round", the AccuDraw compass is adjusted to match the component's placed orientation.
BMECH ACCU SETORIGINTRUE
<R>,<I> Set Inline FITTING mode - Sets the component into inline dynamic placement mode after an end connection is established. Once placed, the parent duct/pipe is broken to accommodate the inline component.
Tip: Holding <Ctrl> key while sliding component in inline mode will offset to it's center.
BMECH ACCU SETINLINE
Key-ins available within the Modify Component tools:
<R>,<S> Resize CONNECTED - Resizes connected components to reflect size changes during a component modification.
BMECH ACCU RESIZECONNECTED
<R>,<x> Next CONNECTED x - Advances the focus to the next connection on a component or to the next component for modification. The key-in can advance to as many as twenty connections.

A duct can have as many as 18 taps plus the two ends totalling a maximum of twenty.
