Solid Shapes Structural Types

Extended shape types in Structural discipline support Obround and Elliptical solid shapes —typically, shape types in solid rectangle with solid half-circle ends or half-ellipse ends etc., are commercially demanded by the architects. These shapes suffice the need of placing concrete columns in Solid Stadium, and those commonly used in basement parking structures and transit stations.

Shapes variances range Half solid elliptical stadium shape, Half solid stadium shape, Solid elliptical stadium shape, Solid stadium shape are included in section file format of shape files (*.xml), as concrete profile table.

These shapes are available to use via the Structural Sections interface when you are manipulating structural columns.

An Example of Obround Shape Specifications:

The radius of the edge is half of the height, similar to that of rectangular shapes properties.

The width of the straight section is the width of the whole profile minus the height.
width = overall width
height = overall height
radius = height / 2
straight width = width - 2 * radius = width - height

Typically concrete columns have a width of 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 or 500mm.

Typical length is 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 1000mm.
