To construct an opening with a compound cell automatically

Select the Construct Opening tool. The Construct Opening tool settings dialog appears.

Choose Compound Cell from the By option menu and set the Method to Automatic.

The Sense Distance displays the default distance of compound cell would search for a linear form; you can alter it to best fit.

Select a compound cell that will create the opening.

Select a form into which you want to cut an opening.

The compound cell creates an opening in the selected form and in the form(s) that are located in the sensitive zone defined by the compound cell’s defined Sense Distance.
