OpenBuildings Designer supports multiple Building classification systems types to create schedules and reports for specifications, estimating and construction project management. Building classifications systems such as OmniClass, UniFormat, MasterSpec are delivered in the Building dataset. These Building systems are supported in the DataGroup System and can be associated to any Building item. The linkage is through a new Building attribute type in the DataGroup System with a Classification Selector.

These Building classifications can be predefined in a DataGroup Catalog item. They can also be selected or changed during the placement of Building catalog items.

Like any Building catalog property, these classification system attributes can be changed or added, on single or multiple objects, at any time during the design session by using the Modify Properties tool. You can use the powerful capabilities in the Explorer (Items) and Schedules to search, sort and select Building classification attributes.
