Railing Balusters and Panels from Parametric Cells
Create parametric balusters

Start the
(Place
Railing) tool.
The Place Railing property dialog opens.
- Select a railing catalog item.

Click on the Place Railing Catalog tools split button and
select
(Load Railing
Settings).
The Railing Construction Settings dialog opens with the selected catalog item railing definition open.

Click on the
Balusters tab, and click
(Add) to
add a new baluster component.
A new component is added to the table.
- Click in the Shape Type field and select the Parametric Cell option.
- Click in the Shape Name field, click the down arrow button and select the one of the parametric cells listed.
- Set the baluster dimensions.

Click
OK.
The changes are saved to the catalog item and the dialog is closed. You are returned back to the Place Railing tool.
- On the Place Railing Placement ribbon tab, select

Select a stair.
The railing is placed with the parametric balusters.
Create parametric panels

Start the
(Place
Railing) tool.
The Place Railing property dialog opens.
- Select a railing catalog item.

Click on the Place Railing Catalog tools split button and
select
(Load Railing
Settings).
The Railing Construction Settings dialog opens with the selected catalog item railing definition open.

Click on the
Balusters tab, and click
(Add) to
add a new baluster component.
A new component is added to the table.
- Click in the Shape Type field and select the Parametric Panel option.
- Click in the Shape Name field, click the down arrow button and select the one of the parametric cells listed.
- Set the baluster dimensions.
