To Insert or Create an EDF

Open the text editor.
Move the caret to the position you want to insert the EDF.
Do one of the following:

(Only during initial text placement) Type the EDF character for each desired character in the EDF.

or
Right-click and select Insert Enter Data Field.

The Edit Enter Data Field dialog opens.
Use the dialog to specify the size, alignment, and default value of the EDF.
Click OK.
Note: You can also select text, right-click, and select Insert Enter Data Field. The Edit Enter Data Field dialog opens, pre-populated with an appropriate size and default value for the selected text. The EDF effectively replaces the selected text.
Click the data button in a view to place the text.
