Building Mechanical Category Variables

Lists user configuration variables that generally apply to the Building Mechanical discipline.

BMECH_ANALYZE_LIB	Analysis flow rules library	Sets the path and file name for the analysis flow velocity rules data.
BMECH_AUTOFITTINGOPTIONS_ FILE	Mechanical HVAC Autofitting - Location of Autofittingoptions options data	Sets the path and file name (AutoFittingOptions.xml) in the workset dataset that specifies components from the DataGroup catalog used in various autofitting situations. Note: When unavailable, the XML file set by BMECHDIR_AUTOFITTING_OPTIONS is replicated in this location.
BMECH_DUCT_SYMBOLS_LIBNAME	Duct Symbol cell library	Sets the .cel file for HVAC symbols.
BMECH_ENDTYPE_CONSTRUCTION	End Type construct	Sets an element graphics class type value as msdElementClassConstruction for Endconnections When set to `m-` (default), a male connection is created. When set to `Fe-`, a female connection is created. When set to `fl-`, a flange connection is created. Tip: Multiple end-connections can be set by separating the string by semicolon delimiters (for instance `m-;fl-;`)
BMECH_FAMILY_DIFFUSER_DEFAULT	Diffusers default family of parts	Set the family of parts used by the HVAC Diffusers.
BMECH_FAMILY_FIREFIGHTING_DEFAULT	Fire Fighting component's default family of parts	Sets the default family of parts used by the Fire Fighting components.
BMECH_FAMILY_GRILLE_DEFAULT	Grilles default family of parts	Set the family of parts used by the HVAC Grilles.
BMECH_FAMILY_HVACEQUIPMENT_DEFAULT	HVAC Equipment default family of parts	Sets the family of parts used by the HVAC Equipment.
BMECH_FAMILY_PLUMBING_DEFAULT	Plumbing Equipment default family of parts	Sets the family of parts used by the Plumbing discipline.
BMECH_FAMILY_PLUMBINGFIXTURE_DEFAULT	Fixture default family of parts	Sets the family of parts used by Plumbing Fixtures.
BMECH_FLOWRATE_UNIT	Duct Sizer default flow rate unit	Sets the default value for flow rate unit for the Duct Sizer tool. Valid Unit values for metric system (m3/s, m3/hr, l/s) for Imperial System (ft3/s, ft3/min, ft3/min).
BMECH_IGNORESYMBOLS_BYSHAPE	Ignore drawing symbols by shape	Controls whether to ignore the symbols for a component in a DV drawing based upon its shape. The component will be resymbolized using 3d graphics. Accepted values are: 1, 2, or 3 for rectangular, round, or flat oval, respectively. Multiple values can be specified by using a semi-colon to separate the values.
BMECH_INSULATION_LIB	Insulation materials library	Sets the path and file name for the insulation library used to populate the pick lists in the Analyze System tool's insulation functionality.
BMECH_MULTIPIPE_LIMIT	Maximun number of pipes in a multipipe	Sets the maximum amount of pipes allowed in the Multipipe Settings dialog.
BMECH_OVERRIDESETTING_FILE	A settings file that stores Mechanical override to customize drawing output	Sets the path and file name for the Mechanical Override Settings.
BMECH_PIPE_TURNDOWN_SIZE	Set the pipe turndown size	Specifies the pipe turndown mode to fixed with the specified size. Value must be in `MU:SU` format.
BMECH_PLUMBING_SYMBOLS_LIBNAME	Plumbing symbol cell library	Sets the `.ce`l file for Plumbing symbol.
BMECH_STANDARDSIZEPATH	A settings file that stores user defined standard lengths for frequently placed components	Sets the path and file name for the standard lengths settings file which is used to store user defined standard length values for components.
BMECH_UNITS_SHOW_MESSAGE	Unit Error message	Displays error message if unit defined by _BMECH_UNITS configuration variable and design file unit does not match. Default is `1` ("yes").
BMECH_WATCH_OVERRIDE_FILE	Mechanical Override Setting	Allows dynamically update the drawings according to the overrides set. When set to `1` (default), when you edit the overrides file, it will update the drawing dynamically.
BMECHDIR_ARCHITECTURE_LIB	Architecture component Catalogs	Specifies the path for the library in DataGroup catalogs for architecture components.
BMECHDIR_AUTOFITTING_OPTIONS	Mechanical HVAC Autofitting preferences	Sets the path for autofitting options data that specify components from the Datagroup Catalog to be used in various autofitting situations.
BMECHDIR_DIFFUSER_LIB	Diffuser component catalogs	Specifies the path for the datagroupcatalogs library for diffuser components.
BMECHDIR_EQUIPMENT_LIB	Equipment catalogs	Specifies the path for the DataGroup catalogs library for equipment components.
BMECHDIR_FITTINGS_LIB	HVAC fittings Catalogs	Specifies the path for the DataGroup catalogs library for fittings.

HVAC_AIRFLOW_STATUS_AUTO	Air flow symbol configuration setting	Specifies the behavior of the Mechanical discipline HVAC discipline's air flow symbols which are generated in the drawing composition process. When set to 1 (default), the airflow symbol based is on a Part definition. When set to 0, a default air flow symbol for all components is applied.
HVAC_CATALOGPATH	The Mechanical Building Designer catalogs directory	Specifies the directory location of Mechanical discipline XML files containing component generation instructions and manufacturer catalogs.
HVAC_CUT_BORDER_LINESTYLE	Visible air flow symbol line style	Sets line style for the HVAC discipline's visible air flow symbols that are displayed when components are viewed on end or sectioned in drawings.
HVAC_CUT_HIDDEN_LINESTYLE	Hidden air flow symbol line style	Sets line style for the HVAC discipline's hidden air flow symbols that are displayed when components are viewed on end in drawings.
HVAC_DIFFUSERPATH	Catalog file which defines diffuser datagroup properties	Sets the path and file name for the diffuser DataGroup properties definition file.
HVAC_DISCONNECTSLEVELNAME	Level setting for Analyze Route tool	Sets level name for the elements generated by the Analyze Route tool when a disconnect is detected. The default value is `HVAC_DISCONNECTS`.
HVAC_DUCTSYMBOLSLIB	Mechanical Building Designer cell libraries	Specifies the directory location of cell libraries used in Mechanical discipline.
HVAC_EXCEL_DIALOG	Mechanical Building Designer component Excel workbooks	Specifies the active dataset directory location of Excel files used for importing or exporting values for the Mechanical discipline components' DataGroup properties. Note: The Excel worksheet values are extracted from the default DataGroup catalog property values.
HVAC_FAMILY_DUCT_DEFAULT	Default family of parts associated with the Mechanical Building Designer HVAC discipline	Sets default part family name to be made active whenever an HVAC component is selected for placement and the active part is null.
HVAC_FAMILY_INSULATION_DEFAULT	Default family of parts associated with the Mechanical Building Designer HVAC discipline's component insulation	Sets default part family name for the Mechanical discipline HVAC discipline's component insulation.
HVAC_FITTINGPATH	Catalog file which defines fitting datagroup properties	Sets the path and file name for the fittings DataGroup properties definition file.
HVAC_FIXTURESCELLDIR	Fixture cell	Sets the path and file name for the fixture cell files.

HVACFILE_DRAWINGRULES	HVAC Drawing Rules	Specifies the directory location and file name for the file that holds the Mechanical discipline drawing rule settings. Note: A drawing rules setting file exists for each Mechanical discipline dataset.
TFDIR_PREFS	HVAC preference file	Specifies the location of the HVAC preference file.
MS_HELPPATH	Help Path	Specifies the location of the HVAC help files.

Unlisted Building Mechanical configurations

Lists user configuration variables that generally apply to all Building disciplines which do not appear in the Configuration dialog.

Variable	Description
BMECH_MOVE_MAXDYNAMIC	Specifies the maximum number of components dynamically displayed when using the Building Mechanical discipline's Move tool. When undefined, there is no restriction. All components being moved are dynamically displayed. When set to an integer, the integer value is the maximum number of components dynamically displayed.
BMECH_VULCAN_OUT	Sets the path and file name for the Vulcan export out file. By default, the file name is `VULCAN_IMPORT.txt`. The default location is the active workset's Data folder.
