Truss Connection - General tab

Used to specify the overall truss type, geometry, bracing patterns, chord type, and chord size.

Setting	Description
Truss type	Selects from the three types of trusses: Triangular Truss Rectangular Truss Single Beam Truss
Add custom shape	Opens the Add Shape Size dialog, which is used to define a new pipe shape. Diameter - Sets the new pipe shape diameter. Thickness - Sets the new pipe shape wall thickness. Shape Size - Displays the corresponding custom pipe database entry closest to the Diameter and Thickness parameters you define. Material - Selects the material for the new pipe shape. OK - Closes the dialog and saves your changes. Cancel - Closes the dialog without saving your changes. Help - Opens online help.

Top / Bottom Chord	Selects the member sizes to use for the top and bottom chords, respectively. Shape Type - Selects the shape type to use for the members from the drop down list. Shape Size - Selects the shape size to use for the members from the drop down list.
Three Zones	When on, you can use different parameters for the middle zone versus the end zones.
Invert Truss	When on, the truss structure is inverted.
Middle Offset	Sets the vertical offset to use at the mid-point of the truss. This slopes the truss from start/end to middle. Denoted with 1 in the diagram.
Start Offset	Sets the horizontal offset from the selected start point to the start of the truss.
End Offset	Sets the horizontal offset from the selected start point to the start of the truss.
Vertical Offset	Sets the vertical offset to use for the entire truss.
Side / Bottom Face	Selects the bracing pattern and arrangement from drop-down lists for the sides and bottom/top faces of the truss. The graphic adjacent to the drop-down indicates the general bracing arrangements selected.
