General Baseplate - Extras tab

Used to define extras, weld chamfers, and drainage slots.

Setting Description
Extras
  • (Extra Plate selection) ? Sets the type of extra plate. Creates plates parallel to the base plate in a direction aligned with the base plate.
    • None ? Creates no extra plates.
    • Full ? Creates a full plate with a hole the size of the extents of the selected shape.
    • Vertical ? Creates two plates in a direction parallel to the width of the base plate. One plate is created each side of the selected shape.
    • Horizontal ? Creates two plates in a direction parallel to the length of the base plate. One plate is created each side of the selected shape.
    • Both ? Creates both horizontal and vertical plates, totaling four plates.
  • Length ? Sets the dimension of the extents of the plates in a direction parallel to the width of the base plate. A positive value determines the length. A negative value is not permitted. The default is 400 or 16 depending on the units setting.
  • Width ? Sets the dimension of the extents of the plates in a direction parallel to the length of the base plate. A positive value determines the width. A negative value is not permitted. The default is 400 or 16 depending on the units setting.
  • Thickness ? Sets the gusset plate thickness. A positive value determines the thickness. A negative value of value of 0 is not permitted. The default is 8 or 0.25 depending on the units setting.
  • Height ? Sets the offset dimension in a the normal direction of the base plate. A positive value determines the height. A negative value or a value of 0 is not permitted. The default is 100 or 4 depending on the units setting.
(Gusset) Weld Chamfers
  • (Gusset) Weld Chamfers ? When checked, creates rectangular gusset plates. When unchecked, creates gusset plates with a chamfer in the lower inner corner to allow for the welding fillet of the selected shape to the base plate.
  • Chamfer Horiz. / Vert. ? Sets the horizontal / vertical dimension for the weld chamfer on the plate. A positive value determines the chamfer size. A negative value is not permitted. A value of 0 for either Chamfer Horz. or Chamfer Vert. indicates no chamfer is to be created. The default is 5 or 0.25 depending on the units setting.
Slots
  • Slot Width ? Sets the slot width for slots on the Horizontal and Vertical Gusset plates. A positive value determines the slot width. Negative values are interpreted as positive values. A value of 0 indicates no slot is created. The default is 0.
  • Slot Height ? Sets the slot height for slots on the Horizontal and Vertical Gusset plates. A positive value determines the slot height. Negative values are interpreted as positive values. A value of 0 indicates no slot is created. The default is 0.
  • Slot Vertical ? When checked, creates drainage slots on the Vertical Gusset plates.
  • Slot Horizontal ? When checked, creates drainage slots on the Horizontal Gusset plates.
