Used to set stiffeners.




Setting Description
Stiffeners
  • Options ? When checked, creates stiffeners by enabling below settings.
  • Length ? Sets the length of the stiffener. A positive value determines the length. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 100 or 4 depending on the units setting.
  • Width ? Sets the width of the stiffener. A positive value determines the width. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 50 or 2 depending on the units setting.
  • Thickness ? Sets the thickness for the stiffener. A positive value determines the thickness. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 10 or 0.5 depending on the units setting.
  • Chamfer Length ? Sets the chamfer length to the stiffener. A positive value determines the length. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 75 or 3 depending on the units setting.
  • Chamfer Width ? Sets the chamfer width to the stiffener. A positive value determines the width. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 30 or 1.25 depending on the units setting.
  • Weld Chamfer ? Sets the size of the chamfer to the stiffener for allowing weld at the corner between end plate and connecting pipe. A positive value determines the width . A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 20 or 0.75 depending on the units setting.
Options
  • Group ? When checked, the selected shape, plates, stiffeners and bolts are arranged to form a group. If the selected shape is already part of an existing group then the created objects are added to that group.
  • With Bolts - When checked, the bolts are also added to that group.
  • Check Flat File ? When checked, the tool checks the flat file shape table for a shape which matches the specified plate width and thickness and uses a shape in preference to a plate. The shape database checked is controlled by the setting of DEFAULTWIDEFLATFILE in the OpenBridge Modeler 3D configuration file. When unchecked, a plate is created.
  • Tolerance ? Enabled when Check Flat File is checked. Sets the tolerance for the comparison of the plate to the size of the flat file. Default is 1 or 0.04 depending on the units setting.
