Used to set connection type and connect shape dimensions.
Setting
Description
Dimension
Gap to
Support ? Sets the gap between the end of connect shape and the
flange of support shape in the direction of the connect shape. A positive value
determines the gap. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The
default is 10 or 0.4 depending on the units setting.
Upper
Offset ? Sets the offset of the joint plate to the inner edge of
the upper flange of the connect shape. A positive value determines the length.
A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 10 or 0.4
depending on the units setting.
Lower
Offset ? Sets the offset of the joint plate to the inner edge of
the lower flange of the connect shape.
(Not applicable for
Cleatconnection type.)
A positive value determines the length. A negative value is
to be read as its absolute value. The default is 10 or 0.4 depending on the
units setting.
Connection Type
There are four connection type options available to select
one from Stiffener, Connecting Shape, Modified Shape and Cleat.
Connection Type
? Sets one of the options selected from available connection types. The default
selection is Cleat.
Position
? Sets the side of the joint plate attached to.
Left
, Right ? Sets the location of the joint plate attached to either
left ro right side of the web of the connection shape.
Both ? Creates
two plate attached to both sides of the web of the connection shape.
(Applicable to
Cleat connection type.)
Radius ? Sets
the round corner radius of the created plates. Enter a positive value to
determine the diameter. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value.
The default is 5 or 0.2 depending on the units setting.
Thickness ?
Sets the thickness of the Cleat plates.
(Applicable to
Cleat connection type.)
A positive value determines the thickness. A
negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 10 or 0.4
depending on the units setting.
Web
Offset ? Sets the gap between the web of the support shape and the
extruded web of the connection shape.
(Applicable to
Connecting Shape connection type.)
A positive value determines the web offset. A
negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 20 or 0.8
depending on the units setting.
Bottom
Distance ? Sets the .
(Applicable to
Modified Stiffner connection type.)
End
Offset ? Sets the distance between the edge of the cleat and the
first hole center.
A positive value determines the End Offset. A
negative value is to be read as its absolute value. The default is 20 or 0.8
depending on the units setting.
Options
Group ? When checked, the selected shape, plate and other created
objects are arranged to form a group. If the selected shape is already part of
an existing group then the created objects are added to that group.
With
Bolts ? Enabled for
Group. When checked, the bolts are added to
that group.
Standard
Stiffener ? When checked, creates standard web stiffeners on the
support shape. This is only valid when there is one connection beam selected.
