Beam Column End Plate Connection - Plate Chamfer tab

Used to add chamfers to the web plate in column end plate connections.

Setting Description
Add Chamfer to Connecting Enables chamfer settings on the tab.
Equal Chamfer at Both Sides Used to apply the same chamfer settings to both the column and beam sides of the web plate. When on, the At Beam settings are disabled, and the At Column settings set chamfers for both sides.
At Column When on, the chamfer is added at top and bottom corners of the web plate closer to the column.
At Beam When on, the chamfer is added at top and bottom corners of the web plate closer to the beam.
Layout Defines the shape of the chamfer. Each layout is sized using the Radius/1st Edg and 2nd Edg settings.
  • Straight Chamfer - Constructs the chamfers with straight edge.
  • Concave Chamfer - Constructs the chamfers with an inwardly curved edge.
  • Convex Chamfer - Constructs the chamfers with a rounded edge.
Radius/1st Edg Sets the size of the chamfers in the Y direction (inline with the column).
2nd Edg Sets the size of the chamfers in the Z direction (inline with the beam).

  • At selection of End Plate Connect Type, Plate Chamfer tab shows the End Plate connection.
  • At selection of Bolt Flange Connect Type, Plate Chamfer tab shows the Bolt Flange connection.
  • At selection of Weld Splice Connect Type, Plate Chamfer tab shows the Weld Splice connection.
