Extended Truss - Shape tab

Used to set type, dimensions and bolt details of an extended truss.

Setting Description
Segment Sets segment type; top, bottom, vertical or diagonal.
Type Sets shape type.
Class Sets shape class for selected type.
Dimension Sets shape dimension.
Rotation Select a rotation angle (at 90? increments) from the drop-down list.
Mirror When checked, mirrors the selected shape.
Type Sets number shape, e.g. single, single left, etc.
Insertion Sets position shape, center or barycenter. Disabled for Diagonal segments, and for Replaced and 4 Times types.
E Sets inner distance between sections.
Approx Sets the value to round off the length of the segment.
Invert When checked, inverts the segment.
Cut When checked, cuts the segment.
Offset Bottom Sets the bottom offsets;
  • A ? Sets the segment offset from bottom chord.
  • B ? Sets the bottom offset of the axis segment.
Offset Top Sets the top offsets;
  • C ? Sets the segment offset from top chord.
  • D ? Sets the top offset of the axis segment.
Setting Allows inserting drill.
  • Drill ? When checked, inserts a drill.
  • Dm ? Sets hole diameter from the standard diameters options from drop-down list.
  • Play ? Sets the diameter with virtual free play required in manual insertion.
  • Offset ? Sets distance between shape axis to the holes.
  • Nr-X / Nr-Y ? Sets hole counts in X and Y directions, respectively.
  • A ? Sets distance from hole to shape side to X direction.
  • B / C ? Sets inner hole distance to X and Y directions, respectively.
Options Allows additionally inserting a blind plate.
  • Options
    • Drill ? When checked, inserts a drill.
    • Dm ? Sets hole diameter from the standard diameters options from drop-down list.
    • Play ? Sets the diameter with virtual free play required in manual insertion.
    • Sp ? Sets the thickness for blind plate.
    • Max ? Sets limit for spacing between blind plate.
    When checked, inserts a drill.
  • Dir-X
    • Nr ? Sets hole counts in X direction.
    • A ? Sets distance from hole to shape side to X direction.
    • B ? Sets inner hole distance to X direction.
  • Dir-Y
    • Nr ? Sets hole counts in Y direction.
    • C ? Sets distance from hole to shape side to Y direction.
    • D ? Sets inner hole distance to Y direction.
  • Type ? Sets the number of blind plates to insert; Single or Double.
  • Dist ? Sets the distance between blind plates.
  • Rotation ? Sets the rotation angle to blind plate; 0? or 90?.
  • Cross ? Indicates if blind plates are crossed.
List Segment Lists the currently set segments. The type, number , shape and section details are listed in the tabular form.
  • ? Copies the properties of the segment currently selected in the list.
  • ? Pastes the properties of the segment currently copied in the clip board.
  • ? Resets the properties of selected segment in the list.
