Detailing in Standard and Express Modes

Standard Mode

To detail in standard mode, complete the following steps in sequence:
  • Setup task: Create detail styles.
  • Prepare your model:
    • For cast in place detailing, create work frame views.
    • For detailing precast members or assembly instructions, assign position numbers
  • Launch DetailCenter: Open DetailCenter and select your detailing mode as Standard Mode.
  • Assign Each View or Part to a Detailing Style.
  • Create 2D detail blocks from your objects and views.
  • Insert the 2D blocks into a drawing frame.

Express Mode

In Express mode, you can create any number of 2D drawings together in a batch.

To detail in express mode, complete the following steps in sequence:
  • Setup task: Create one or more detail styles.
  • Prepare your model: Run positioning and create work frame views.
  • Launch DetailCenter: Open DetailCenter and select your detailing mode as Express Mode.
  • Use the DetailCenter Express wizard to create your 2D drawings.

DetailCenter Express is a wizard that helps to automate the detailing process. The wizard guides you through a series of questions where you indicate your preferences.
