To place pier template library objects onto
supportlines, use the following procedure.
You must have one or
more existing supportlines in your model.

Either:
On the
Home tab, select the
Place Pier tool in the
Substructure group
or
Key in
bmgeom
pier
placebypierline
-
In the
Place Piers tool settings dialog,
select the pier template to use:

Click
[…] adjacent to the
Template Name setting.
The
Template Selection dialog
opens.

In the lists of pier types, select the pier template to use.

Click
Close.
- (Optional)
Specify additional settings such as Integral option or horizontal
offset.
- (Optional)
In the
Place Piers tool settings dialog,
clear the
Elevation Constraints check box if no custom
elevation changes are needed for any of the piers.

In the view window, do the following:

Select existing supportlines (click individually, window,
etc.) to add them to the selection set.
Tip: You can click a supportline
again to remove it from the selection set.

Reset (i.e., right-click) to set the selection set.
-
Data point again to accept the selection set.

Specify any necessary cap or footing elevation constraints for the
piers and then click
Apply.
The piers are placed
in your project.
