To place a deck
To place a bridge deck between supportlines, use the following procedure.
- Either:
- In the Place Deck tool settings dialog, select the deck template to use:
- (Optional) Specify additional settings such as offsets and orientation.
- (Optional) Specify deck breakback offset distances for the left and right sides at start and end of deck. The breakback distance is measured normal to the edge of slab. Deck breakbacks are squared ends at skewed supports.
- (Optional) In the Place Deck tool settings dialog, clear the Add Constraints check box if no additional placement constraints are required.
-
In the view window, do the following:
- Data point (i.e., click) a supportline as the first deck boundary
- Data point a different supportline as the second deck boundary
- Data point a third time to accept
- (Optional) Specify any necessary point or variable constraints along the deck and then click Apply.
- If variable constraints are being specified, the template tab shows the effect of the variations defined at user defined distance (use the slider or enter cross section distance).
While a 3D deck
object is placed following the vertical profile elevation, a 2D deck layout
(decoration) is placed at elevation 0 in the model.
This 2D layout is updated whenever the deck object is changed, and the line work has the necessary features associated to place it on a separate Level. This 2D deck layout can be used for plan production, along with other bridge element line work drawn at elevation 0, including beam layout, support lines etcetera.
