Auto Dimensions
SettingDescription
Offset The distance away from object at which the dimensions are placed.
Parallel Plane Check this option if you only want to see dimensions for objects surfaces parallel to the cutting plane. Any projected dimensions for sloped elements will be skipped.
Associated Points

Check this option if you want the dimensions in 2D drawings to update to changes in the 3D model.

An "association point" in a dimension element is one that is associated with a point in the dimensioned element(s). Association points are most useful for points that are "connected" to the element being dimensioned, such as dimension endpoints.

Style Select one of the following:
  • All Sides - Dimensions are done on all sides of all objects
  • Ignore Duplicate - Select this style if to ignore all duplicate dimensions. For example if the top and bottom width of the column are the same, they will not be dimensioned.
  • Align By Side - The dimensions are aligned on the selected sides.
Unique By Type This option is only available if Ignore Duplicate is selected. If it is selected, automatic dimensioning is done for all elements individually. For example, if a pier cap shares the same width as a column width in the side view, both widths will be dimensioned.
Align (Align By Side only) Chose from Align Side, Top and Left, Bottom and Left, Top and Right, Bottom, and Right.
Hidden Projections (Align By Side only) Dimensions all objects even if they are hidden by other objects.
Levels Default Levels that are used for placing the various dimensioning. Could be by object or by side, depending on setting in Style.

Columns Select this option to clip columns.
Piles/Drill Shafts Select this option to clip piles or drilled shafts under columns.

Enable Reference Scaling (Fit) Check this option if you want to adjust the drawings to fit the sheet border in the ratio specified in the size % field.
Size Input the percent by which the drawings are scaled to fit the sheet border.
