OpenBridge Modeler

Properties

It frequently occurs that the properties of existing component parts have to be modified. There are several different ways to select the properties function. There OpenBridge Modeler puts in a context sensitive way all available parameters at disposal for modification.

The most frequent way of selection is to highlight the part(s) and then to select the right-click > Structural Properties context menu. That opens the properties dialog for selected component part.

In addition, the COM-module ‘Double-Click’ is available as well. You can call the Structural Properties by double-clicking the parts or key in Prostructure Edit Properties .

No matter which way you choose, OpenBridge Modeler analyses which parts were selected and only provides the properties valid for these parts for modification.

Make sure that the desired type of component part has been selected first if you want to modify several parts simultaneously. This means, if you want to modify all plates of a model, you have to make sure that the first selected object is a plate. All other selected elements are filtered accordingly. In this case, you can e.g. select a plate and then the complete model, and then all component parts that are not plates are automatically filtered out.

The dialog windows can be divided into three different categories.

  1. Dialogs being specific for a component part type.
  2. Dialogs offering processing actions.
  3. Dialogs being generally valid for all component parts.

The first group depends on the selected type. The second group is not displayed if several parts have been selected and depends on the processing actions included. The third group is generally displayed for all elements.

i-model compliance - OpenBridge Modeler inherits the Structural Properties to structural objects, when an i-models (i.dgn file) is created from the native DGN. The Structural Element seen for such i-model in Navigator comprises structural properties of all such members being exported.
