OpenBridge Modeler

DSTV Data export

Used to export data from OpenBridge Modeler to a PPS (Productions, Planning, and Control) program via an ASCII text file.

Accessed from:
  • Ribbon: Steel > Data/Reporting > Reporting > ERP - Data

PPS-data generation is made according to the rules of the DSTV interface description CAD parts lists issued in November 1997 (3rd. edition).

The material designations correspond to the standard names for data transfer of steel construction issued in August 1993 (2nd. edition).

Note: Basic positioning must be performed for your 3D model prior to generating PPS data.
SettingDescription
Titleblock Data Here, the title block data of the data records 1 through 5 of the PPS file are defined.
Worknum Enter the work no. (max. 2 digits). It will appear in data record No. 1 of the PPS file.
Order No. Enter the order no. (max. 8 digits). It will appear in data record no. 2 of the PPS file.
Draw. No. Enter the drawing no. (max. 3 digits). It will appear in data record no. 4 of the PPS file.
Revision Determine the revision index (1 character) of the drawing. It will also appear in data record no. 4 of the PPS and is added to the drawing number. A revision index defined in the title block (Rev. Index) will make this information superfluous.
Worker Specify the person in charge by a name or initials (max. 12 characters). The name will appear in data record no. 5 of the PPS file. Definition of a name in the title block will make this information superfluous.
Options Settings for output specifications.
Output Weight Output of internally calculated weights. Otherwise, no output will take place, and the values will be given by the PPS.
Output Area Output of internally calculated surfaces. Otherwise, no output will take place, and the values will be given by the PPS.
Accord. to DSTV The order of the panels is according to the DSTV standards. Apart from this, you can determine yourself the order by entering the values 1-27 in the input fields under Panel Order.
Material=Name+ the name of the component part is set in front of the material name.
Header The header is output
Grade at Bolts At the output of bolts, the bolt quality is output.
Divider Sign Type an ASCII character to use as the delimiter of data records.
Point as Comma Set this option to use a period for decimal marks instead of a comma.
Note: Commas are used as decimal marks in some European and South American countries (e.g., Germany) where as periods are used in North America and Asia (e.g., United States).
Merge NC-Data If this field has been checked, NC production data are output as well.
Without Group Structure If this field has been checked, no groups (main parts and accessory parts) are output, but all component parts are output as single parts.
Drawing Header Here you find the optional fields of the drawing’s title block. They will all appear in data record no. 9.
Revision Define the revision index (1 character) of the drawing. When this panel is used, the Title Block Data / Index panel will be superfluous.
Group Identifier of groups consisting of 3 characters.
Label Group name consisting of 30 characters.
Surface Surface finish.
Addition in % Addition to weight in percent
Worker Name of the person in charge of TB.
Engineering Date Type the TB-date.
Approval Date on which the drawing has been presented for approval.
Approved Date on which the drawing has been returned after approval.
Test Eng. Date on which the drawing has been transferred to the test engineer.
Release for Production Date of release for production.
Length Tolerance Tolerance value which is used to combine the output of component parts with similar length to one entry.
Use plates for welded shapes When checked, treats the welded shapes as plates.
Bolt position number When checked, includes bolt position numbers data.
Flat steel not as plate When checked, excludes flat-sheets in processing plates data.
Fields List all fields available for output.
Sort List of fields to be used.
Field Order buttons Use the buttons to insert and move fields across.
  • – Adds selected field to the Sort field list.
  • – Inserts selected field in the Fields column in the Sort field list.
  • – Removes the field currently selected in the Sort field list.
  • – Erases the Sort field list.
Part Selection Options to select all parts of the model or only the selected parts.
  • Use Entire Model – Processes all parts in the current model.
  • Use Selection Set – Processes only parts currently selected in the drawing.
Export to ProjectWise When checked, the *.pps data exported comply with ProjectWise.
Select Path Opens the "Select the folder for the ERP files" dialog where the path and the name of the PPS data output file be freely set. If possible, it should contain the order number and a drawing number.
