Position Flag Definition dialog

Used to set the defaults of the depiction.

SettingDescription
Line Type Sets the line type for the leader line of the position flag. The kind of guideline to be used:
  • No Line – No guideline will be displayed.
  • Normal Line – Only one line will be displayed.
  • Line with Arrow – A line with an arrow will be displayed.
  • Line with Point - A line with a point will be displayed.
  • Line with Cell – A line with any cell at the starting point will be displayed.
Line Cell Activated for the Line Type: Line with Cell.

Sets the cell that will be inserted at the start point of the line.

Bubble Forms Sets the Balloon type of position flag, the kind of position number.
  • No Bubble – Only the number is displayed.
  • Round Bubble – The number is displayed in an oval.
  • Rectangular Bubble – the number is displayed in a field.
  • Hexagonal Bubble – The number is displayed in a hexagon.
  • On Line - The number is displayed on the construction line.
Text Type Sets the text template for main text of position flag. This is the type of shape designation in case of length indication.
  • U100 ..160 - The designation is as follows IPE270..7890.
  • U 100 160 – The designation is as follows IPE270–7890.
  • U100 x160 - The designation is as follows IPE270x7890.
  • By Format Setting – The designation is as indicated in the Default Format input field.
Alignment Sets the direction of the construction line with respect to the position text.
  • At Shape – The alignment is parallel to the shape.
  • At Line – You are prompted to enter a reference line by clicking. The text will be aligned accordingly.
  • Horizontal – The alignment is in horizontal direction.
  • Vertical – The alignment is in vertical direction.
Text Style Specifies the text style for the text of the position flag.
Default Format Specifies the format for the user-defined shape designation if you have selected ‘Format Template’ as text type. The following parameters are available.
  • $(N) for part name
  • $(L) for part length
  • $(W) for part width
  • $(T) for part thickness
The result of the format string $(N) $(T)x$(W) would e.g. be plate 5x380.
Pos-No./Shipping-No. Prefix / Postfix In the input field Prefix or Postfix you can enter a text which is displayed in front of or after the position or shipping number of the position flag.

The default can be set independently of each other for both numbers.

Divide Specifies a text which is written between position number and shipping number, if both numbers have to be displayed as position number entry in the position flag.
Layout Here, you determine which part information to be displayed in the position flag. Checking one or more of the options set the layout.
Total Number The number of these parts in PosFlag/count of part in flag is displayed, e.g. 17 x IPE 270.
Name The part name designation is displayed (e. g. the shape designation).
Comment The comments of the parts list information are displayed.
Item Number Any existing item number is displayed.
Dimensions The length/scale in the selected text type is displayed.
Position Number The position number is displayed.
Shipping Number The shipping number is displayed.
Material The material designation is displayed.
Original Position number The fixed (former) position number is displayed.
Display Class When checked, displays the display class in position flag.
Area Class When checked, displays the area class in the position flag.
Part Family When checked, displays the part family in the position flag.
Description When checked, displays the description in the position flag.
Process status When checked, displays the process status in the position flag.
User-defined data
  • – Opens the Layout of user-defined extended entirty data dialog where UserEED for single parts and GroupUserEED for group parts layout arguments are managed.
Options
  • No Line – When checked, no line is drawn beneath the text of the position flag.
  • Dynamic – When checked, the depiction of the position flag is dynamically adapted to the current view.
  • Group Length – When checked, The entire length of the group is output instead of the part length.
Size Here, you define the text sizes in mm for general lettering (Text Size) and for position numbers (Pos. Size). For printing, the text sizes are scaled according to selected scale.
Colours You set the corresponding color for the flag as color number using the fields Line, Number, Bubble and Label. If you enter -1 as value, the pre-setting will be used.

Use the (Set color) —to set background color of the dialog monitor, and (Reset color) to rest the color.

Note: When you click a position flag via the context menu PS Properties, you can subsequently modify the properties of each single position flag. This tab is not described here in detail because the possibilities for setting correspond to the parameters explained above.
