Change Attributes

Used as a simple method for changing the color and weight of main or longitudinal bars, and the text parameters for bar labels.

Accessed from:
  • Ribbon: Concrete > Drawing Production > 2D Rebar > Rebar Attributes

In order to use this tool, place a fence around the area to be changed and select the Attributes tool. The tool modifies all bars contained in the current Fence and so is very much quicker.

Groups of controls are displayed for the Main Bar, Longitudinal Bars, and Text. Each group relates to the equivalent Bar Attributes dialog. Activate the desired parameters to be changed by checking the appropriate options. Click Clear All (or Set All) to deactivate (or activate) all toggles at once.

Note: Notice there are no values next to each attribute. You can only indicate which attribute should update. The actual values assigned to each attribute are extracted from your current Bar Defaults, i.e. the Main Bar Defaults, Longitudinal Bar Defaults, and Text Defaults.

When you’ve chosen the required attributes, click Update. All bars within the current Fence are redrawn with these new Attributes.

Note: The Change Attributes option is often very helpful when you work with 2D Rebar drawings created in another office or perhaps by an external organisation. Details within these drawings are often created with colors, weights, styles and text heights different from your standard. Once you receive these drawings, you can transform them instantly this option.

New attribute values are extracted from your current Bar Defaults dialogs, then loaded into the selected bars. You could also make these changes using Modify Rebar and editing the Bar Attributes but this would be time-consuming especially if many bars must change.
