Bent Plates - Append Flange tab

SettingDescription
Flange length Sets the length of the segment in the direction of the bending angle.
Front distance edge Sets the front offset in the direction towards the reference edge. Positive values mean that inwards the segment becomes smaller.
Back edge distance Sets the rear offset in the direction towards the reference edge. Positive values mean that inwards the segment becomes smaller.
Bent Radius Sets the radius of the bend relative to the neutral fiber (half of the plate thickness). To avoid problems with the volume modeler, the radius should always be a little bit more that half of the plate thickness.
Inner Radius When on, the radius value is applied to the inside radius versus the neutral fiber (center).
Bend Angle Sets the angle of the bend relative to the reference segment (reference edge).
Unfolding Correction Factor The unfolding is carried out using this correction factor. The correction is multiplied with half of the plate thickness.
  • K=0 – Unfolds on the inner radius
  • K=1 – Unfolds on the center
  • K=2 – Unfolds on the outer radius
This correction factor is used for the whole bent plate.
Flange Length Calculation Selects the method for calculating the length of the butt straps to be added.
  • Only flange length - Calculates from the end of the bending segment.
  • From intersection outer edge - Calculates from the outside edge of the base plate.
  • From intersection inner edge - Calculates from the inside edge of the base plate.
  • From intersection center lines - Calculates from the center line of the base plate up to the end of the butt strap.
Click to rotate the current plate edge including the subordinate plate edges in a positive direction around the reference edge. The rotation is effected with the angle specified in the neighboring input field.
Click to rotate the current plate edge including the subordinate plate edges in negative direction around the reference edge. The rotation is effected with the angle specified in the adjacent input field.
