To add reinforcing to a strip footing

  1. Select (Continuous Footing Reinforcement). The Continuous Footing Reinforcing dialog opens.
  2. Click (Select Active Concrete) and then select one or more continuous footings in your model. The Continuous Footing Reinforcing dialog reopens.
  3. On the Main Reinforcing tab:
    1. Select the Concrete Cover for the Top, Bottom, Side, and End.
    2. (Optional) Set the option for Top Rebar and then type the number of bars (Qty) or Spacing for the Longitudinal bars. Select the Bar Size and Layout type and set the option for Start Offset to type offset values at either end (if necessary).
    3. (Optional) To include transverse rebar, select a Bar Size and type a Spacing value for the Transverse bars.
    4. (Optional) Set the option for Bottom Rebar and then type the number of bars (Qty) or Spacing for the Longitudinal bars. Select the Bar Size and Layout type and set the option for Start Offset to type offset values at either end (if necessary).
    5. (Optional) To include transverse rebar, select a Bar Size and type a Spacing value for the Transverse bars.
    Note: In each case, if a Spacing distance is typed, then the Qty will be ignored.
    Footing reinforcement is added to the foundation as the tab settings are updated.
  4. (Optional) On the Lap Options tab, set the rebar lap parameters as necessary.
  5. On the End Conditions tab, select the end conditions used for the Start and End of each bar location used. See Working With End Conditions for additional information.
  6. (Optional) Set additional Options and Assignments on the corresponding dialog tabs as needed.
  7. Click OK to apply your settings and close the dialog.
