Fly Brace Connection - Connection tab

Used to create bolts through the hole in the brace and the gusset plate and through the brace and the purlin.
SettingDescription
Bolt Settings
  • Weld – When checked, no holes are created. When unchecked, holes are created as per the Hole settings.
  • Bolt Style – Sets the bolt type from the installed bolt database's. Select the required bolt type from the list. The default is the first type in the list.
  • Diameter – Sets the diameter of the hole in the gusset plate. Enter a positive value to determine the diameter. Default is 16 or 0.625 depending on the units setting.
  • Workloose – Sets the allowance for the hole workloose for the hole in the gusset plate. Enter a positive value to determine the workloose. Default is 2 or 0.0625 depending on the units setting.
Hole Settings
  • Lower Only – When checked, the brace is only positioned to the lower connection point. When unchecked, it is positioned to the lower and upper connection points
    • Lower Pitch – Sets the bolt offset for the lower purlin hole. Enter a positive value to determine the offset. The default is 0. This value is only used if Pitch from Table is not set or values where not supplied in the shape database. If lower offset is 0 a single hole is place in the centre of the purlin
  • Pitch from Table – When checked, calculation of hole offsets from the shape database is checked for supplied values for the Lower and Upper Offsets. If found in the database these values are used in preference to the Lower And Upper Offset values. If not found in the database the Lower and Upper Offset values are used. When unchecked, the Lower and Upper Offset values are used.

    • Upper Pitch – Set the bolt offset for the upper purlin hole. Enter a positive value to determine the offset. The default is 0. This value is only used if Pitch from Table is not set or values where not supplied in the shape database. Upper Offset is also ignored if Lower only is set.
  • Double Holes – When checked, sets double hole connection.
  • Symmetrical Offset – When checked, the offset values are both controlled by the horizontal value. When unchecked, individual values can be set for horizontal and vertical offset.
  • Offset(s) – Sets gusset hole offsets in X and Y directions, respectively. For Symmetrical Offset only vertical offset is enabled.
