Place Field Splices dialog
Used to place Field Splices on steel beams. Opens when the Place Splices tool is selected on the Superstructure ribbon tab in the Superstructure group and a steel beam group is selected.
| Setting | Description |
| Beams | A list of all the beams in the currently selected beam group. |
| Template | Select from a list of Field Splices currently defined in the Field Splice Library |
| Add Section | Select the Mode by which you want to specify location (SupportLine, Ratio by Span, or Station) and then specify the value. For SupportLine or Ratio by Span, select the reference for that value. Then click the [+] to add the field splice |
| Add at Beam Breaks | Adds a field splice automatically where there breaks in the web definition for built up beam or if rolled beams, when the section breaks. |
| Delete Selected | Click to remove the selected row from the table |
| Delete All | Click to remove all rows from the table |
| Copy | Opens the Copy Field Splice dialog, which is used to copy the field splice layout to other beams or spans |
| Validate | Click to have the program validate if the current field splice layout for the beam group contains any definition issues. |
| Save | Click to save the current field splice layout to the beam layout |
| Cancel | Closes the dialog without saving the field splice layout. |
