Standard Handrail - Grab Bar tab

Used to configure the shapes and their placement for stair elements.

General Setting

SettingDescription
Height Offset Sets the height of the grab bar for the standard type in the first field.
Note: The second Height Offset field is enabled when the Stair Handrail Type is selected (from the Standard Handrail dialog General tab).
Side Offset Sets the side offset for the grab bar.
Current Handrail Selects the handrail number to set the offset dimensions.
Start Offset Sets the distance to use as the start offset of the grab bar.
End Offset Sets the distance to use as the end offset of the grab bar.
Transition Type Sets the transition to use at the selected element:
  • Align As Is – Uses No transition; the element ends are cut straight at the intersection of their center lines.
  • Angle Cut – Uses a mitre cut to split the angle difference.
  • Insert Bent – Inserts a separate, bent shape along the arc of the joint.
  • Curve Joint – Keeps the shape continuous and bent along the arc at the joint.
Radius Sets the radius value to use for changes in slope of end form rails.

Bracket > General Setting

SettingDescription
Create When on, enables settings for creating bracket shapes.
Common
  • Vertical Offset – Sets the distance of the selected shape in a vertical direction for the bracket.
  • Create Group – When checked, creates a group.
  • Group Name – Assigns name to the parent group.
Shape
  • Shape Size – Displays the defined shape for the specified handrail member.
  • (Select Shape tool) – Opens the Shape Selection dialog, used to select a catalog shape from a list of standard shapes and sizes.
  • Rotation – Rotates the shape in selected angle (at 90° increments).
  • Mirror – When checked, the shape position is mirrored.
End Condition
  • Type – Sets the type of end cut between the post and the rails except top rail.
    • Align As Is
    • Straight Cut
    • Complex Cut
    • Boolean Cut
  • Gap – Sets the gap distance between the post end and the top rail.
Transition
  • Type – Sets the transition to use at the selected element:
    • Align As Is – Uses No transition; the element ends are cut straight at the intersection of their center lines.
    • Angle Cut – Uses a mitre cut to split the angle difference.
    • Insert Bent – Inserts a separate, bent shape along the arc of the joint .
    • Curve Joint – Keeps the shape continuous and bent along the arc at the joint.
  • Radius – Sets the radius for Insert Bent and Curve Joint transition types.

Bracket > End Plate

SettingDescription
General Setting Settings for enabling plate and plate dimensions:
  • Create Plate – When checked, enables plate spacings and bolts settings.
  • Round Plate – When checked, sets as a weld plate.
  • Length – Sets the length of the bracket end plate.
  • Width – Sets the width of the bracket end plate.
  • Thickness – Sets the thickness of the bracket end plate.
  • Offset(L/T) – Sets the longitudinal and transverse offset values in respective fields.
Bolts
  • Bolt Type – Sets the bolt style from the drop-down list.
  • Diameter – Sets the hole diameter of the selected bolt from the drop-down list of bolt diameter table.
  • Workloose – Sets the clearance between bolt and hole diameter.
  • Additional Length – Sets an additional length to the bolts extension outside the nut.
  • Slot Length – Sets the slotted hole distance along longitudinal direction.
  • Rotate – When checked, rotates the axis of slot.
  • Turn – When checked, the bolt direction is inverted. Available when not welded.
  • Weld – When checked, the shapes are welded, instead of bolting.
Note: When set to Weld, disables the Bolts and Spacing settings.
Longitudinal Spacing
  • Number – Sets the number of bolts to be placed on the X axis.
  • Edge Distance (w1) – Sets the distance from the start of the shape to the center of the first bolt.
  • Distance Between (w2) – Sets the distance between the center of the bolts in longitudinal direction.
  • Edge Distance (w3) – Sets the distance from the end of the shape to the center of the last bolt.
Note: Applicable for more than one Number of bolts.
Transverse Spacing
  • Number – Sets the number of bolts to be placed on the Y axis.
  • Edge Distance (g1) – Sets the distance from the edge to the center of the first bolt.
  • Edge Distance (g2) – Sets the distance between the center of the bolts.
  • Distance Between (g3) – Sets the distance between the center of the bolts.
