Column Splice Connection - Splice Plates tab

Used to set the Splice Plates and the Inner Plate dimensions for the splice connection.

The plate thickness of the flange plates is determined by the flange thickness of the lower shape. The plate thickness of the web plate is determined by the web thickness of the lower shape.

Setting	Description
Create Splice Plates	When checked, creates splice plates horizontally between the selected shapes and the transition plates. A plate is also placed vertically perpendicular to the web plate. When unchecked, only the transition plates are created.
Joint Plate	Thickness – Sets the splice plate thickness. A positive value determines the thickness. A negative value of value of 0 is not permitted. The default is 10 or 0.375 depending on the units setting. Left Offset – Sets the distance the splice plate extends beyond the selected shape in a direction opposite to the cross-sectional X axis of the lower shape selected. A positive or a negative value determines the offset. The default is 25 or 1 depending on the units setting. Right Offset – Sets the distance the splice plate extends beyond the selected shape in a direction equal to the cross-sectional X axis of the lower shape selected. A positive or a negative value determines the offset. The default is 25 or 1depending on the units setting. Top Offset – Sets the distance the splice plate extends beyond the selected shape in a direction equal to the cross-sectional Y axis of the lower shape selected. A positive or a negative value determines the offset. The default is 25 or 1 depending on the units setting. Bottom Offset – Sets the distance the splice plate extends beyond the selected shape in a direction opposite to the cross-sectional Y axis of the lower shape selected. A positive or a negative value determines the offset. The default is 25 or 1 depending on the units setting.
