To Get Tags as Attributes After a DWG Conversion

The Convert to Solid tool allows all objects converting in shared cells, however when you don't intend to export the model to DWG and want to keep model elements as smart solid is possible with Enable for AutoCAD conversion option to select whether to convert to smart solid or to shared cell for DWG conversion.

To Convert OpenBridge Modeler Objects To Smart Solids

  1. Select the Convert to Solid (Create Native Solid Drawing) tool.
  2. Select an appropriate option for non-convertible objects.
  3. Check the Add Tag setting. Leave the Enable for AutoCAD conversion option unchecked. This will ensure the model objects are converted to Smart Solids, and not to shared cells.
  4. Click the (Convert Parts To Solid) button.

    The selected items are converted to Smart Solid.

To Export to DWG

  1. Select the Convert to Solid (Create Native Solid Drawing) tool.
  2. Select an appropriate option for non-convertible objects.
  3. Check the Add Tag setting. This will enable theEnable for AutoCAD conversion setting. Check theEnable for AutoCAD conversion option. This will ensure the model objects are converted to Shared Cells.
  4. Click the (Convert Parts To Solid) button.

    The selected items are converted to Shared Cell.

Note: When export the smart solid model to DWG is performed, the Tag attached to the solid converts to plain text in the DWG.
